The Philippines registered 2,303 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, the lowest reported cases since March 2, further pushing the nationwide tally to 2,792,656. 

The Department of Health (DOH) also confirmed that eight Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their reports on time. 

Today’s count brings the active cases to 40,786, also the lowest since March 8. Among the said number, 71.2% are mild, 5.1% are asymptomatic, 7.5% are severe, and 3.2% are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 2,708,466 with 4,677 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 43,404 with 128 new fatalities. 

The health department reported that 22 duplicates were successfully removed from the nationwide count, while 106 infections previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after validation. Ronald Espartinez
