The Philippines logged 1,997 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 2,815,080.
The Department of Health (DOH) also announced that all Covid-19 laboratories were able to submit their reports on time.
Currently, there are 29,382 Covid-19 patients undergoing medical treatment and/or quarantine: 63.6% are mild, 5.6% are asymptomatic, 16.34% are moderate, 10.1% are severe, and 4.3% are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 2,740,426 with 1,696 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 45,272 with 238 fatalities.
The health department also confirmed that 32 duplicates were removed from the nationwide count. Among the said number, 29 are recoveries and one fatality.
Moreover, 216 infections previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after validation. Ronald Espartinez
