The Philippines posted a total of 19,536 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections from July 18 to July 24, 2022, the Department of Health (DOH) said. 

Based on the DOH’s weekly Covid-19 case bulletin, the new cases reported were 33% higher than the new cases reported the previous week. The daily average case increased to 2,791 from the 2,091 posted from July to 17. 

The health department also reported 42 more verified Covid-19 fatalities.

Among these deaths, one happened in October 2021; 13 in August 2021; nine in July 2021; nine in June 2021; nine in May 2021; and one in April 2021.

There are also 666 severe and critical infections currently admitted in hospitals as of July 24. 

Meanwhile, among the new cases reported, there were 56 individuals tagged as new severe or critical cases.
