The Philippines recorded 1,906 new Covid-19 infections, the Department of Health (DOH) reported Monday.

This week’s number, recorded from April 4 to 10, 2022, is 29% lower compared to the infections reported last week. 

The DOH said the country’s daily infection average for the week is 272 which is lower than the 382 posted from March 28 to April 3.

The health department also confirmed that there are 707 severe and critical cases currently admitted in hospitals.

Meanwhile, around 12.4 million Filipinos have already received their booster shots. 

The DOH said 428 more deaths due to Covid-19 were confirmed after validation last week.

Of the 428 deaths, 31 occurred in April 2022 (7.2%), 65 in March 2022 (15.2%), 45 in February 2022 (10.5%), 51 in January 2022 (11.9%), 6 in December 2021 (1.4%), 2 in November 2021 (0.5%), 17 in October 2021 (4.0%), 34 in September 2021 (7.9%), 33 in August 2021 (7.7%), 7 in July 2021 (1.6%), 6 in June 2021 (1.4%), 11 in May 2021 (2.6%), 19 in April 2021 (4.4%), 16 in March 2021 (3.7%), 8 in February 2021 (1.9%), 5 in January 2021 (1.2%), 5 in December 2020 (1.2%), 8 in November 2020 (1.9%), 9 in October 2020 (2.1%), 11 in September 2020 (2.6%), 13 in August 2020 (3.0%), 14 in July 2020 (3.3%), 10 in June 2020 (2.3%), and 2 in May 2020 (0.5%).  Ronald Espartinez
