The Department of Health (DOH) announced 1,799 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, raising the nationwide tally to 420,614 on Monday.
According to the latest DOH report, seven Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily data on time.
Majority of the new cases came from Cavite with 154; Rizal with 114; Quezon City with 99; Bulacan with 76; and Laguna with 67.
Currently, 25,837 active Covid-19 cases are undergoing treatment or quarantine: 83.5 percent are mild, 7.8 percent are asymptomatic, 2.9 percent are severe, and 5.5 percent are in critical condition.
The country’s recovery rate rose to 386,604 with 135 more patients winning the fight against the deadly illness.
Death toll stands at 8,173 with 50 new fatalities.
“Moreover, 16 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” the DOH added.
