The caseload for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections in the Philippines pushed to 537,310 after the Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 1,790 new infections. 

As per DOH’s latest data, eight Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Currently, there are 26,333 active Covid-19 cases undergoing treatment or quarantine.

The country’ recovery rate increased to 499,798 with 11,388 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness. 

Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 11,179 with 70 new fatalities. 

One duplicate case was also removed from the total case count, according to DOH.

“Moreover, 55 cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH added. Ronald dela Cruz
