The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally hit 514,996 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,581 new infections.
According to the DOH, four Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
Bulk of the new cases came from Quezon City with 89 cases; followed by Cebu City with 88; Cavite with 80; Davao City with 78; and Cebu province with 50.
Currently, there are 29,282 active Covid-19 cases undergoing treatment or quarantine.
The country’s recovery rate increased to 475,422 with 13 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, stands at 10,292 with 50 new fatalities.
Meanwhile, 14 duplicates were removed from the total tally of cases.
“In addition, 190 cases were found to have tested negative and have been removed from the total case count. Of these, 189 were recoveries,” it added.
