The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally increased to 448,331 after the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Saturday 1,301 new Covid-19 infections.

According to the DOH’s latest data, five Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Bulk of the new cases came from Davao del Norte with 96; followed by Quezon City with 76; Laguna with 59; and Rizal and Western Samar with 50, each.

Currently, 30,168 active Covid-19 cases are undergoing treatment or quarantine: 85.8 percent are mild, 7 percent are asymptomatic, 2.3 percent are severe, and 4.6 percent are in critical condition.

Furthermore, 111 more Covid-19 survivors added to the country’s recovery rate, now at 409,433.

 

Death toll stands at 8,730 with 35 new fatalities.

The DOH also confirmed that 9 duplicate cases were removed from the total tally.

“Moreover, there were 14 cases that were previously reported as deaths but after final validation, they were recovered cases. In Addition, 4 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” the DOH said. RJ Espartinez
