The Philippines reported 12,576 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide case count to 784,043.
Amid the surge, the Department of Health (DOH) said that seven Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
With this, the country’s active Covid-19 cases spiked to 165,715, this year’s highest.
Among the number, 96.5% are mild, 2.2% are asymptomatic, 0.5% are severe, and 0.5% are in critical condition.
The country’s recovery rate increased to 604,905 with 599 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 13,423 with 103 new fatalities.
The DOH also announced it successfully removed thirty duplicate cases from the nationwide tally.
