The Philippines reported 1,190 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 2,820,494.

The Department of Health (DOH) revealed that only one Covid-19 laboratory failed to submit its daily report on time.

Currently, there are 23,846 active Covid-19 infections undergoing medical treatment and/or quarantine: 58.1% are mild, 5.2% are asymptomatic, 12% are severe, and 5% are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 2,750,531 with 2,759 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, increased to 46,117 with 309 new fatalities.

The health department noted that only 18 of the 309 fatalities came from November. The other 61% fatalities came from October, which was posted late due to the late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya

“This issue is currently being coordinated with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure information is up to date,” the DOH said.

The DOH also added that 37 duplicates were removed from the nationwide count, while 264 infections previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as fatalities after validation. Ronald Espartinez
