The Philippines’ confirmed 40,397 new recoveries for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) after the Department of Health (DOH) applied a “mass recovery adjustment” on Sunday as part of its Oplan Recovery.
The total recoveries in the country is now at 112,586.
The DOH recently launched Oplan Recovery, where patients who have successfully completed 14 to 21 days of isolation without showing symptoms are re-tagged as recoveries.
Meanwhile, total cases in the country exceeded the 160,000 mark after the DOH announced 3,420 new Covid-19 infections, elevating the tally to 161,253.
The top areas with the most number of new Covid-19 cases are Metro Manila with 2,091 new infections; followed by Laguna with 263; Cavite with 149; Batangas with 137; and Rizal with 106.
Covid-19 active cases dropped to 46,002 from a record-high 83,109 on Saturday.
Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 2,665 with 65 new fatalities. RJ Espartinez
