The Philippines logged 4,393 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 2,765,672.
The Department of Health (DOH) also reported that five Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their reports on time.
Today’s count brings the active cases in the country to 53,642, the lowest since July 22. Among the said number, 74.8% are mild, 6.7% are asymptomatic, 5.8% are severe, and 2.4% are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 2,669,953 with 8,470 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, exceeded the 42,000-mark, now at 42,077 with 135 new fatalities.
The health department also reported that 28 duplicates were removed from the nationwide count. Moreover, 97 infections previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after validation. Ronald Espartinez
