The Philippines logged 18,937 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 2,385,616.

Currently, there are 176,850 active Covid-19 patients undergoing medical treatment and/or quarantine.

The Department of Health (DOH) also announced that five Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

The country’s recovery rate increased to 2,171,832 with 20,171 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 36,934 with 146 new fatalities. 

The DOH also announced that it removed 70 duplicate cases as well as 51 recoveries. 

Moreover, 53 infections previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths. Ronald Espartinez
