The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally leaped to 363,888 after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on Thursday 1,664 new infections.

This marks the sixth consecutive day where new cases reported did not exceed the 3,000 mark.

Meanwhile, the DOH data showed that nine Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their data on time. 

Currently, 44,772 active Covid-19 cases are undergoing treatment or quarantine: 83.6 percent are mild, 11.2 percent are asymptomatic, 1.9 percent are severe, and 3.3 percent are in critical condition.

The country’s recovery rate increased to 312,333 with 843 more patients winning the fight against Covid-19. 

Death toll stands at 6,783 with 38 new fatalities: 25 died in October; 9 in September; while August, July, and May each have recorded one death each. 

The Philippines sits on the 20th spot in the world for the most number of Covid-19 cases, trailing neighbor Indonesia on the 19th spot with 377,541 cases.
