The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally leaped to 434,357 after the Department of Health (DOH) announced 1,438 new Covid-19 infections, with 11 Covid-19 laboratories failing to submit their daily reports on time.
Bulk of the new cases came from Davao City with 142; Laguna with 89; Quezon City with 80; City of Manila with 63; and Pampanga with 58.
Currently, 26,916 active Covid-19 cases are undertaking medical treatment and quarantine: 84.7% have mild symptoms, 7.1% are asymptomatic, 5.2% are in critical condition, 2.7% have severe symptoms, and 0.29% have moderate symptoms.
The country’s recovery rate increased to 399,005 with 232 more patients winning the fight against the deadly virus.
Death toll stands at 8,436 with 18 new fatalities. RJ Espartinez
