The Philippines on Wednesday welcomed 1,632,900 AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine doses.
The jabs were donated by France and coursed through the Covax facility.
French Ambassador to the Philippines Michèle Boccoz said France would donate a total of 5,850,000 vaccine doses to the Philippines.
“Moderna, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca—more are coming soon. So, it’s really a strong gesture of friendship,” Boccoz said.
To date, the Philippines has received more than 142 million Covid-19 vaccine doses.
The Philippines has deployed nearly 90 million Covid-19 jabs as of Dec. 1.
About 37 million Filipinos have completed their vaccinations, while 51,811,422 have yet to receive their second doses.,
