The Philippines on Wednesday received 455,130 Covid-19 vaccine doses, which it would use for the inoculation of Filipino adults.

In an interview following the arrival of the doses, Ma. Paz Corrales, medical consultant of the National Task Force Against Covid-19, said the vaccines would be deployed to areas that needed them.

“Ito ay ibibigay sa mga regions para sa 18 and above. Ito kung sino nangangailangan na region o opisina ‘yan po ang pupuntahan nito,” she said.

More than 75 percent of the country’s eligible population have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

As of Feb. 2, 127,570,820 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been deployed in the country.

The breakdown of the administered vaccines is as follows:

  • 60,523,282 used as first doses
  • 59,342,837 used to fully vaccinate
  • 7,704,701 used as booster shots

The country has recorded 153,335 active Covid-19 cases as of Feb. 3. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
