The country’s vaccine stock has increased by over 2.5 million doses, courtesy of separate shipments of Sinovac and AstraZeneca shots.

Two million doses of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine arrived in the Philippines on Thursday.

According to the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19, the shipment consisted of government-procured Sinovac doses.

The Sinovac shots were “deployed immediately,” the NTF said.

In total, the country has received 22.5 million Sinovac vaccine doses.

On Friday, a shipment of 575,800 arrived in the Philippines.

The doses were purchased by the private sector through the “A Dose of Hope” program, the NTF said.

To date, the country has received a total of 42,091,150 Covid-19 vaccine doses from different manufacturers. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
