The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,235 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, raising the Philippines tally to 540,227.

According to the latest data from the DOH, eight Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Currently, there are 29,167 active Covid-19 cases undergoing medical treatment or quarantine: 88.6 percent are mild, 5.5 percent are asymptomatic, 2.6 percent are severe, and 2.7 percent are in critical condition.

The country’s recovery rate increased to 499,764 with 53 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, stands at 11,296 with 65 new fatalities.

 

Three duplicate cases were also removed from the nationwide case count.

Meanwhile, 59 cases previously declared as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation. Ronald dela Cruz
