The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) caseload reached 538,995 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,690 new infections Monday.
As per the DOH’s latest data, five Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
Currently, there are 27,992 active Covid-19 cases undergoing medical treatment or quarantine: 88.5% are mild, 5.4% are asymptomatic, 2.8% are critical, 2.7% are severe and 0.63% are moderate.
Meanwhile, 23 more patients won the fight against the deadly respiratory illness, raising the nationwide tally of survivors to 499,772.
Death toll, on the other hand, pushes to 11,231 with 52 new fatalities.
The DOH also reported that four duplicates were already removed from the nationwide tally, while 46 cases previously declared as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
“In addition, 1 case was found to have tested negative and has been removed from the total case count. This was a recovered case,” the DOH said. Ronald dela Cruz
