The Philippines on Saturday registered 941 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 3,666,678.

The Department of Health (DOH) said that all Covid-19 laboratories were operational since March 3. Only one laboratory failed to submit its report on time. 

Among the new cases reported, 833 or 89% happened within the recent 14 days from February 20 to March 5, 2022.

The National Capital Region (NCR) topped the regions with the most number of cases with 223 or 27%; followed Region 4-A with 124 or 15%; and Region 7 with 80 or 10%.

Currently, there are 49,374 active Covid-19 infections undergoing treatment: 416 are asymptomatic, 44,586 are mild, 2,736 are moderate, 1,344 are severe, and 292 are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 3,560,425 with 1,784 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness. 

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 56,879 with 109 new fatalities. 

The health department confirmed that 10 duplicates were removed from the nationwide count. Among the said number, 10 were recoveries. Ronald Espartinez
