The Philippines reported 5,257 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, Wednesday.
The Department of Health (DOH) said the nationwide caseload is now at 1,240,716.
The DOH said three laboratories failed to submit their daily report on time.
The country’s active Covid-19 infections slightly rose to 52,132; 93.1% are mild, 2.3% are asymptomatic, 1.9% are severe, and 1.5% are in critical cases.
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 1,167,426 with 6,266 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, is now at 21,158 with 146 new fatalities.
The DOH also confirmed that it successfully removed 8 duplicate cases from the nationwide tally, while 86 cases previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after verification. Ronald Espartinez
