The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines suddenly jumped to 14,669 with 350 new infections, the highest recorded since April 6, the Department of Health (DOH) announced Tuesday.

In a bit of good news, recoveries jumped to 3,412 with 89 more patients winning their battle against the disease.

Fatalities, on the other hand, inches to 886 after the DOH’s daily bulletin confirmed 13 new deaths. 

Meanwhile, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III announced that all regions in the country have accredited COVID-19 testing centers except for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Singapore remains on top in Southeast Asia for the most number of COVID-19 cases at 32,343. Indonesia followed behind with 23,165 cases trailed by the Philippines. (RJ Espartinez)
