The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally rose to 398,449 after the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Monday 2,058 new infections with 9 Covid-19 laboratories failing to submit their daily reports on time. 

Majority of the new cases came from Rizal with 103; Davao City with 81; Maguindanao with 81; Quezon City with 77; and Cavite with 76.

Currently, 29,018 active Covid-19 cases are undergoing treatment or quarantine: 82.7 percent are mild, 9.4 percent are asymptomatic, 2.8 percent are severe, and 5 percent are in critical condition.

The country’s recovery rate rose to 361,784 with 182 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness. 




Death toll, on the other hand, stands at 7,674 with 108 new fatalities.

“Moreover, 33 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” the DOH said.
