The Philippines tallied a total of 1,461,455 coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections with 5,881 new cases.

This brings the country’s active Covid-19 infections to 51,902, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

Among the said figure, 90.3% are mild, 4.4% are asymptomatic, 2.2% are severe, and 1.5% are in critical condition.

The DOH also announced that five Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit the daily reports on time. 

The country also posted 3,003 more patients who recovered from the respiratory illness, pushing the tally of survivors to 1,383,833.

Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 25,720 with 70 new fatalities.

The DOH also reported that 10 duplicate cases were removed from the nationwide count.

“Moreover, 28 cases previously tagged as recoveries have been validated to be active cases, and 34 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said. Ronald Espartinez
