The Philippines reported a new record-high coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections in a single day at 1,150, raising the country’s tally to 31,825, the Department of Health (DOH) announced Tuesday. 

The DOH also charted the highest number of fresh cases, 789: 207 came from Metro Manila, 288 came from Region VII, while the remaining 294 were spread out across the country.

361 of the new cases are reported late: 110 came from Metro Manila, 32 came from Region VII, while the 219 remaining patients came from various towns and municipalities nationwide.

The country also confirmed 9 new patients dying from the disease, increasing the total number of fatalities to 1,186.

In a bit of good news, recoveries leaped to 8,442 with 299 more patients winning their battle against the deadly disease.

Indonesia leads Southeast Asia for the most number of COVID-19 cases at 47,896. Singapore followed behind with 42,432 cases trailed by the Philippines.
