The Philippines logged a new all-time high of new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections Saturday with 19,441 new cases, pushing the nationwide tally to 1,935,700.
In spite of this, the Department of Health (DOH) said three Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily report on time.
Today’s new cases bring the nation’s active infections to 142,679, the highest reported since Friday.
Among the said number, 95.5% were mild, 1.8% were asymptomatic, 1.1% were severe, and 0.6% were in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 1,760,013 with 19,191 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 33,008 with 167 new fatalities.
The health department also announced that it successfully removed 202 duplicate cases from the nationwide count. Ronald Espartinez
