The Philippines logged 5,204 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections with eight laboratories failing to submit their daily reports on time.

Currently, the country has a total caseload of 1,478,061 total infections with 49,128 of them being active cases.

Among the active infections, 89.6% are mild, 4.7% are asymptomatic, 2.5% are severe, and 1.5% are in critical condition

The Department of Health (DOH) said the country also registered 5,811 recoveries for Monday bringing the  total recoveries to 1,402,918.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 26,015 with 100 new fatalities.

The DOH also reported that 12 duplicates were removed from the nationwide count, while 156 infection duplicates were also decreased. 

The health department also validated 75 active cases to recoveries, and 62 new fatalities from being tagged as recovered. Ronald Espartinez
