The Philippines on Friday registered 4,043 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 2,779,943.

The Department of Health (DOH) also confirmed that all Covid-19 laboratories were able to submit their daily reports on time. 

Today’s count brings the active cases in the country to 50,630. Among the said number, 74.1% are mild, 6.5% are asymptomatic, 10.71% are moderate, 6.1% are severe, and 2.6% are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 2,686,692 with 3,224 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, increased to 42,621 with 44 new fatalities. 

The health department reported that 30 duplicate infections were removed from the nationwide count. Among the said number, 28 were recoveries. Ronald Espartinez
