The Philippines logged 356 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 2,835,345.

The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that six Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their reports on time, while two laboratories were not operational on December 5.

Currently, there are 13,026 active Covid-19 infections undergoing medical treatment: 5,314 are mild, 899 are asymptomatic, 2,326 are severe, and 587 are in critical condition. 

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 2,772,728 with 871 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 49,591 with 92 new fatalities.

The health department reported that six duplicates were removed, while 159 previous infections have been removed from the nationwide count as well after testing negative. Ronald Espartinez
