The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally skyrocketed to 383,113 after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on Sunday 2,396 new infections.

According to the DOH’s latest data, 15 Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Bulk of the new cases came from Davao City with 148; Quezon City with 146; Laguna with 122; Cavite with 112; and Benguet with 100.

Currently, 27,115 active Covid-19 cases are undergoing treatment or quarantine: 81.6 percent are mild, 9.9 percent are asymptomatic, 3.1 percent are severe, and 5.4 percent are in critical condition. 

The country’s recovery rate increased to 348,760 with 17,727 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll stands at 7,238 with 17 new fatalities.
