The Philippines reported 2,726 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections from March 21 to March 27, which is 24% less than the previous week.

The daily case average for the week was 389, the Department of Health (DOH) said. 

DOH’s data also showed that 758 severe and critical cases are currently admitted. 

No severe or critical infections were reported this week. 

The DOH also said that 65.6 million individuals have already been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.  This is 72.93% of the government’s overall vaccination target.

The health department also said that 11.8 million have already received their booster shots. 

The DOH bulletin showed 752 more verified fatalities last week. 

Of the 752 deaths, 107 occurred in March 2022 (14.2%), 105 in February 2022 (14.0%), 52 in January 2022 (6.9%), 19 in December 2021 (2.5%), 30 in November 2021 (4.0%), 82 in October 2021 (10.9%), 161 in September 2021 (21.4%), 83 in August 2021 (11.0%), 51 in July 2021 (6.8%), 17 in June 2021 (2.3%), 8 in May 2021 (1.1%), 8 in April 2021 (1.1%), 2 in March 2021 (0.3%), 1 in February 2021 (0.1%), 5 in January 2021 (0.7%), 8 in December 2020 (1.1%), 7 in November 2020 (0.9%), 4 in October 2020 (0.5%), 1 in September 2020 (0.1%), and 1 in August 2020 (0.1%) due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya.  Ronald Espartinez
