The Philippines logged Monday 20,745 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 2,248,071.
Today’s infections bring the country’s active Covid-19 infections to 180,293.
Despite the surge, the Department of Health (DOH) announced that five Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 2,032,471 with 22,290 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 35,307 with 163 new fatalities.
The health department also announced that 41 duplicate cases were modified from the nationwide count, as well as 30 recoveries and one fatality.
The DOH added that 60 recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation. Ronald Espartinez
