The Philippines logged 19,271 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 2,366,749.
Today’s infection brings the country’s active infections to 178,196. Among the said number, 92.3% are mild, 3.1% are asymptomatic, 2.6% are moderate, and 0.6% are in critical condition.
The Department of Health (DOH) also announced that only two Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 2,151,765 with 25,037 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 36,788 with 205 new fatalities.
The health department said 72 duplicate infections were removed from the nationwide count, while 94 cases previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as death after verification. Ronald Espartinez
