The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally reached 406,337 after the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Saturday 1,650 new infections. 

This marks the 5th consecutive day where new Covid-19 infections reported did not exceed the 2,000 mark.

The DOH said nine Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Majority of the new cases came from Laguna with 84; Davao City with 81; Cavite with 73; Quezon with 71; and Rizal with 64.

Currently, 35,478 remaining active Covid-19 cases are undergoing treatment or quarantine: 83.9 percent are mild, 9.6 percent are asymptomatic, 2.3 percent are severe, 4.1 percent are in critical condition, and 0.13 percent are in moderate condition.

 

 

 

The country’s recovery rate also increased to 363,068 with 194 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness. 

Death toll, on the other hand, stands at 7,791 with 39 new fatalities. 

The Philippines ranks 2nd in Southeast Asia for the most number of Covid-19 infections, trailing behind Indonesia with 463,007 cases. RJ Espartinez
