The Philippines reported Monday 1,317 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections from May 23 to 29, 2022.
The Department of Health (DOH) said the daily case average for the week (188) was 8.8% higher than the cases reported the previous week.
The DOH recorded 1,214 infections with an average of 173 per day from May 6 to 22.
The health department recorded 12 new severe and critical infections but with zero fatality last week.
Moreover, 4,073 or 17.2% of non-intensive care unit beds are occupied, while 459 or 16.8% of ICU beds are in use.
OCTA Research said the National Capital Region (NCR) logged a “very slow” increase in Covid-19 infections in the recent week amid the increase of daily average case by 2% from the previous week. — Ronald Espartinez
