The Philippines reported 10,035 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the national tally to 1,765,675. 

Today’s new infections push the country’s active cases to 105,787.

Among the said number, 96.1% are mild, 0.9% are asymptomatic, 1.3% are severe, and 0.7% are in critical condition.

Amid the continuous surge, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that six Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 1,629,426 with 10,858 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, increased to 30,462 with 96 new fatalities. 

The health agency also announced that 206 duplicate cases were removed from the nationwide count. 

“Moreover, 39 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said. Ronald Espartinez
