The Philippines reported 180 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections, elevating the national tally to 13,777, the Department of Health (DOH) announced Saturday.

114 patients or 63 percent of the new cases came from the National Capital Region, while 66 patients or 37 percent are from other areas. 

In a bit of good news, recoveries increased to 3,177 with 85 new patients defeating the virus.

The DOH’s daily bulletin also logged 6 more deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 863.

Currently, there are 9,737 active COVID-19 cases in the country. 

Singapore remains the most number of COVID-19 cases in Southeast Asia at 31,068. Indonesia followed behind with 21,745 trailed by the Philippines.  (RJ Espartinez)
