The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said on Wednesday that VaxCertPH, an application for issuing digital vaccine certificates, would be launched in September 2021.
In a TeleRadyo interview, Interior Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya assured that the platform complies with World Health Organization (WHO) standards.
“Ang target namin is Sept. 1 ma-online na ito,” he said.
According to Malaya, data in the portal will come from local government units. Entries will be verified by the Department of Health (DOH).
VaxCertPH was developed by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for the DOH.
The WHO has recommended the use of digital vaccination certificates to make easier cross-border travel and vaccination verification.
Palace spokesman earlier said that local government units would be trained in inputting data and troubleshooting for VaxCertPH.
