The Philippines on Saturday received 961,000 doses of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine.
The National Task Force Against Covid-19 said the majority of the doses would be deployed to regions outside of Metro Manila.
A “small portion” of the vaccines will be allotted to second-dose recipients in Metro Manila.
Of the vaccines, 712,800 doses were procured by the government, while the rest were procured by the private sector.
The country’s vaccine total rose to 59,169,810 doses after the arrival of the Moderna vaccines.
The Philippines has administered over 40.5 million vaccine doses nationwide and fully vaccinated nearly 18 million against Covid-19.
