The Philippine government is considering launching another three-day national vaccination drive, Malacañang said on Wednesday.
In an interview over ANC, acting Palace spokesman Karlo Nograles said the country was looking for ways to further ramp up its vaccination numbers
“Dec. 15, 16 and 17 ang indicative date na tinitingnan namin. Again, we will leave it up to the National Task Force [Against Covid-19] to determine,” he said.
The country was able to administer nearly five million Covid-19 vaccine doses during the first two days of its national vaccination drive.
The Philippines ranked No. 5 worldwide in vaccines administered on Nov. 29, the first day of its three-day drive.
“It means that it’s working,” Nograles said. “Marami pang gustong magpabakuna, marami pa ang puwede pa nating ma-push at maengganyo na magpabakuna, so we will assess the numbers and then we’ll move after our assessment.”
The country has deployed 86,421,420 Covid-19 vaccines to date.
