The Philippines coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally exceeded the 360,000 mark after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on Tuesday 1,640 new infections.
The country’s total tally stands at 360,775.
According to the DOH’s latest data, 15 Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their reports on time.
Bulk of new infections came from both Cavite and Quezon City with 86; followed by Batangas with 69; Bulacan with 62; and Manila with 61.
Currently, 43,443 active Covid-19 cases are undergoing treatment or quarantine: 83 percent are mild, 11.6 percent are asymptomatic, 2 percent are severe, and 3.4 percent are in critical condition.
The country’s recovery rate increased to 310,642 with 369 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll stands at 6,690 with 17 new fatalities.
“Moreover, four cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” the DOH added
The Philippines currently sits on the 20th spot in the world for the most number of Covid-19 cases, trailing neighbor Indonesia on the 19th spot with 368,842 cases.
