The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally crossed the 460,000 mark after the Department of Health (DOH) announced 1,721 new Covid-19 infections.

The country’s total Covid-19 count stands at 461,505.  The DOH said five Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.

Majority of the new cases came from President Rodrigo Duterte’s hometown of Davao City with 151, followed by Quezon City with 142; Rizal with 85; Laguna with 81; and City of Manila with 77.

Currently, 23,341 active Covid-19 cases are undergoing treatment or quarantine.

The country’s recovery rate increased to 429,207 with 82 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
