The Philippines’ total coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) surpassed the 194,000 mark Monday afternoon after the Department of Health reported 4,686 additional cases, bringing the its cases to 194,252
Metro Manila, the country’s epicenter for the outbreak, has 2,519 new cases followed by Laguna (286), Cavite (218), Bulacan (189) and Rizal (179).
There are still 59,200 active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine, of which 91.5% of cases are mild, 6.1% are asymptomatic, 1% are severe and 1.4% are critical.
Death toll crossed the 3,000-mark after the DOH reported 13 new deaths taking the total Covid-19 fatalities to 3,010.
Meanwhile, recoveries grew to 132,042 after 729 more individuals survived the deadly respiratory disease.
According to the DOH, Covid-19 survivors account about 68% of the nation’s total case count.
The Philippines has the biggest number of new cases reported Monday in Southeast Asia followed by Indonesia with 1,877 new cases and Singapore’s 51 new cases. Rommel F. Lopez
