The Department of Health (DOH) reported 3,446 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections on Monday bringing the country’s total tally to 220,819.
This is the sixth consecutive day in which more than 3,000 new cases were reported.
Metro Manila still leads the country for the most number of reported new cases with 1,900 followed by Laguna with 163, Cavite with 161, Leyte with 155, and Pampanga with 116.
Among the newly reported cases, 86 percent or 3,446 contracted COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
Total number of recoveries rose to 157,562 after 165 more patients recovered from the respiratory illness.
The country’s death toll also climbed to 3,558 with 38 new fatalities.
