
The Philippines logged 8,127 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, raising the country’s tally to 1,627,816.
This brings the active Covid-19 infections to 66,895, the highest since May 3, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
Among the said number, 94.6% are mild, 1% are asymptomatic, 1.9% are severe, and 1.1% are in critical condition.
The DOH also reported that three Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 1,532,494 with 4,343 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 28,427 with 196 new fatalities.
The health department confirmed that 134 duplicate cases were removed from the total count. Ronald Espartinez
