The Philippines logged 13,573 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 1,883,088.

Amid the surge of infections, the Department of Health (DOH) announced that seven Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.

This brings the active Covid-19 infections in the country to 125,378.

Among the said number, 95.9% are mild, 1.3% are asymptomatic, 1.2% are severe, and 0.6% are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate skyrocketed to 1,725,218 with 15,820 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 32,492 with 228 new fatalities.

The health department also confirmed that 176 duplicate cases were successfully removed from the nationwide count.

“Moreover, 152 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said. Ronald Espartinez
