Pasig City started distributing P8,000 cash assistance to families not covered by the government’s social amelioration program (SAP) on Tuesday.

With a budget of more than P1 billion budget, Pasig’s local SAP aims to subsidize some 160,000 families in the city, including temporary tenants and those living in condominiums.

“Lahat po, kasama. ‘Pag sinabi ko pong lahat, ibig sabihin lahat. Kasama po ang nangungupahan. Basta residente ng Pasig,” Mayor Vico Sotto said on Facebook live.

However, Sotto said government employees, those qualified for the Department of Labor and Employment’s Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program CAMP and other national government amelioration programs won’t be covered by Pasig’s local SAP.

Only 93,000 of 206,000 families in Pasig qualified for the national government’s SAP. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
