A barangay official in Sto. Tomas, Pasig tested positive for Covid-19, Mayor Vico Sotto said Tuesday night.
Sotto said the closure of the Sto. Tomas barangay hall was ordered immediately, so other village officials and employees could undergo quarantine.
Close contacts of the barangay official will also be subjected to a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
“Higit pa ito sa DOH protocol, pero gusto nating makasiguro,” Sotto said in a Facebook post.
Residents may visit the Office of the City Administrator at Pasig city hall for urgent concerns and issuance of barangay clearances.
Sotto also reminded Pasig residents to follow minimum health standards to help prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.
