Malacañang on Tuesday urged Filipinos to remain on alert against Covid-19 as the government prepares the guidelines for Christmas 2021.

In a virtual presser, Palace spokesman Harry Roque said that under the alert level system, limited social gatherings were limited.

“Pero kagaya ng aking sinabi, huwag naman po sanang mabalewala iyong napakadami nating sakripisyo at napakatagal nating pagtitiis dahil lang sa pagdating ng Pasko,” he said.

Roque said guidelines for the holiday season would be discussed by policymakers this month.

“Sa detalye po kung ano iyong mga papayagan at hindi papayagan, iyan po siguro aý pag-uusapan na dahil buwan na ng Nobyembre,” he said.

President Rodrigo Duterte in October vowed a “better” Christmas this year compared to 2020, when the Philippines was under tight lockdown and vaccines had yet to arrive.

About 60 million Filipinos have received at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose.
